NEW COOKERY WORKSHOPS WITH URSULA FERRIGNO & BRIDGET COLVIN
Due to the success of our Italian Cookery Evening in April with Ursula Ferrigno, we are running some exciting cookery workshops which are as follows:
Truly Madly Pasta/Knife Skills Workshop 18.7.09 10.00-12.00 Noon
Learn how to make Pasta from scratch on the work surface. All you need is a fork! Open lasagne, ravioli, tortellini and tagliatelli.
Learn how to prepare fish properly using a knife.

Hands On Bread Workshop 18.7.09 1.00-3.00pm
Explore and explode the mystery of bread making, one of our favourite subjects to teach. Simple delicious and doable! We will teach a range of breads that will inspire for life. Sour dough’s, biga breads and simple breads, all within your grasps, including the Ferrigno famous pizza dough.

Children’s Bread Making/Truly Madly Pasta/Art Fun Day 15.8.09 10.00-4.00pm
Immensely popular, these classes will fill up fast. We will teach some simple delicious and doable bread recipes plus teach them how to make fresh egg pasta, rolled filled and stuffed, plus a range of yummy sauces to match. Children from 8 -16 will love these hands on fun sessions.

Ursula Ferrigno is a talented cook and a prolific food writer with a deep love of Italian food. She is half-Italian and learned to cook as a child by assisting her grandmother preparing the traditional family dishes. She returns regularly to Italy, to visit family and to teach cookery.
She writes for numerous food magazines including Taste Italia, American Gourmet, Olive and Good Food, RSJ Restaurant, Books for Cooks, Caldesi and DiVertimenti. Ursula is also a passionate baker. She teaches both professionals and amateurs to make an array of national and regional breads from ciabatta and focaccia to volcanic stromboli.
Bridget Colvin qualified from Leith’s School of Food and Wine in Kensington, London in 1996. On finishing her studies she joined BBC Good Food Magazine as a Recipe Tester, progressing to Food Writer and Home Economist. Her work has been published in a number of food magazines including Good Housekeeping, BBC Good Food Magazine, Delicious and Vegetarian Good Food, to name but a few.
Bridget works extensively with Ursula Ferrigno with whom she has co-written 'The New Family Bread Book' published by Mitchell Beazley. She has also successfully run a children's cookery workshop based in St. Albans.
